"People ask us what kind of music we play. We don't really like the question."
Jack Scott, who sings, plays banjo and guitar and writes the songs performed by musical duo Last Chance, resists categorizing the duo's music. His music partner, Ingrid Rosenback is a classically trained violinist with a degree in music performance. She sings, plays fiddle and harmonica, serves as songwriting editor extraordinaire and helps create the group's vocal and instrumental arrangements.
Their songs are all original, and they present thoughtful lyrics in memorable melodies, reflective of traditional folk music that informs Jack's songwriting. Ingrid's musical skills and innate sense of harmony take the music to a higher and more substantial level. Last Chance is a musical union far richer than the sum of its parts.
Together as a duo since 2012, Last Chance has enjoyed musical adventures at festivals (they played the Philadelphia Folk Festival in 2016 and 2019), blues clubs, coffeehouses, bars, theaters and venues large and small. They play monthly at the bedsides of patients through WXPN's Musicians on Call program. They are members of the Philadelphia Music Co-op and proud winners of the Delaware "Friends of Folk" 2018 Folk Hero contest. Their three CDs (they're working on their fourth recording now) have received radio play on Philadelphia radio and many College and Community stations throughout the U.S. and Canada.
Last Chance is delighted to bring its engaging show to Jamey's House of Music.
