ABOUT ABOUT

STEVIE AND THE BLUESCASTERS is an acoustic three-piece blues band from Philadelphia specializing in unique arrangements of Chicago, Delta, Piedmont, Texas, pre-war and country blues as well as old Gospel, old Country and a half-pint of R&B.

They also include a smattering of International "Blues" - Mourna, Ladino, Sean Nos and Fado - sung in Portuguese, Spanish and Irish.

Their set consists of a variety of vocals, guitars, National Steel/Resonator, mandolin, harmonica, and even yodeling! Over the years playing together, they have crafted a unique sound that is based on skill and depth, but above all, sheer love for this kind of music.

They have opened for or shared the stage with many legendary artists including Muddy Waters, Roomful of Blues, Ronnie Earl, Magic Slim, Koko Taylor, Ana Popovic, Shemekia Copeland, Tab Benoit, etc. They have played at various festivals (State Street Blues Stroll, Riverfront Blues Festival (DE) Riverhead Blues Festival (NY) etc. as well as numerous clubs (St. Georges Country Store, Nora Lees, Mermaid Inn, Blue Earl Brewery, Lucky Well, the Twisted Tail, to name a very few) venues, theaters (Sellersville, Vail-Leavitt, Rittenhouse Soundworks, etc.) and regularly sold-out House Concerts (Philadelphia, Delaware, New Jersey.) They played many times for Doug Waltner at the legendary Philadelphia Blues Machine concerts.

They recently performed at the Philadelphia Folk Festival, Philly Fringe Festival, and the recent Winter Blues Festival at Longwood Gardens.

Athough the new album, ALL KINDS OF BLUES, was recently released, it has been played regularly on WXPN (Jonny Meister's "The Blues Show") WDVR-FM ("Soundings") G'Town Radio ("The Morning Feed") where they played live as well, WRDV-FM ("Rhythm Breakdown 2") Z88.9FM/95.1FM ("Roots Rock Review") and 92.9FM ("Artists Roundtable:The Creative Voices of Germantown") where they also played live.

Blue Bizness

This rocking blues quartet got started in 2004: their specialty is a particularly energetic and engaging setlist of blues music including originals, covers, and rare cuts from a wide range of traditional and modern blues masters.

Lead /slide guitarist, vocalist, and harmonica player Don "Zig" Zeller is a performing musician since age 15. His day job brings him lots of patients. Songwriter, fingerstyle guitarist and vocalist Michael Sproat is the master of expression while playing his heartfelt lines, and painter of local reknown. Drummer Chad Edstrom brings solid rhythm to the Bizness! Seasoned bassist Dick Donovan spent many years as a principle and luthier at a historic violin shop in Rittenhouse prior to establishing his own business specializing in the worldwide trade and appraisal of the finest violins on the planet.
Together, Blue Bizness' members promise to move you!
